Making an Impact

Have you ever thought to yourself what do you mean ? Or have you questioned how others see you? or maybe even what difference you make? I have and I know how it can feel sometimes when you feel like you mean nothing or don’t make a difference. The thing is , each one of us makes up the importance of human existence. You mean just as much as the next person. It doesn’t matter how you dress, where you went to school, what degree you have or the color of your skin . You’re more important than you know , as mentioned before. Understand too, that if you wonder about these things, doesn’t make you look weak or mean that you necessarily care too much what others think(I hear this so often) . You could simply just be curious and in deep thought. This blog isn’t to tell you how to make yourself important or to make you feel special either. Its about getting you to know something that was already existing. So reassure yourself how important you are. Reassure yourself that you make a difference and your place matters. Its easy to feel unimportant too especially when you’re not involved in anything major . We get so caught up in our everyday work lives that we never have time to do what makes us who we are. Make time for that . Make it so that you do things that are exuding self-assurance. If you really would like to find out what impact you have, ask people close to you a few brainstorming questions. Ask them what good qualities you have and how you make an impact in their lives. This could be helpful and a good validation since the opinion is from someone you value. You could also write down a few  strengths and think about how you apply those within your daily life. Also, doing sweet gestures for people has a way of making you feel really good and helpful in someone’s life. That for me works every single time. If I’m feeling down and I want to feel like I’m making a difference, I just go do a good deed for someone. It’s a natural feel good .And I mean if that doesn’t work for you then that’s okay too. There are sooo many ways to feel like you make a difference. Those are just a few that work for me. Bottom line, do things that’ll allow you to see a cause and effect type of situation unfold.  That’ll help you visualize what exact impact you make.
